Hello,
I know this is a known 'issue', but I have recently bought an intel arc a770 intending to use it to play my favourite game, Minecraft. I knew that the OpenGL performance with this card was bad, and expected bad performance in this game, having done extensive research beforehand.
I have done some benchmarks with this card, comparing it to the much older rtx 2060 I owned beforehand, and it performed similarly or even worse in some situations, as I had expected.
I bought the card knowing that Intel has had a great track record of fixing their drivers, and hoping they would do so in the future.
My question would be: is it on the to-do-list to fix the performance of the arc GPUs in OpenGL, or is OpenGL being left as "old/outdated"? (as it is, I guess)
I personally think that as Minecraft is one of the most popular games it should be given some attention, and it really needs it.
Thanks for your time
P.S.: Please leave this question if it is not relevant or there are more pressing matters to attend to, i will understand.

Hello snaild
Thank you for posting on the Intel® ARC™ Graphics Communities. I am sorry you are experiencing performance issues when playing Minecraft on your Intel® Arc™ A770 Graphics.
I will be glad to assist you and I will be checking if there are plans to further improve the performance on OpenGl titles, however, I would like to ask you for the following information first:
- How much FPS are you getting on the game? Or, please elaborate on your experience and what you describe as low performance so we can have a better understanding of the issue.
- What is the version that experiences this issue? Java or Bedrock or both?
Best Regards,
Hugo O.

Hello!
I am having the exact same issue with performance in minecraft. My FPS is much better in minecraft with a way older and worse GPU. It was a little bit disappointing buying the Arc 380 as an upgrade only to find out minecraft has FPS drops and in general lower FPS than other older GPUs.

I see that in one of the recent updates Minecraft Bedrock got an FPS increase. Thank you for that
However, I am wondering if you are planning to do this for Minecraft Java(the original minecraft version)?
