Hello Intel, i want to play game which called as Sword Art Online Alicization Lycoris but there are some issues which makes the game unplayable. After installing the new Intel Graphics Software 32.0.101.6449 i notice there are weird texture glitch on the game, some model showing weird purple texture which shouldn't be existed. For example like in this one.
Weird Texture Glitch
At first i thought the game is corrupted. I tried to redownload the game but those texture glitches still exists. I tried to install older driver which is Intel Arc Control 32.0.101.6078. Surprisingly the game looks fine even though there are still weird purple texture but it's minor, almost can't be seen. As you can see on the screenshot below.
This is how the game should looks like
After that i tried every newer driver version after Arc Control 32.0.101.6078, those texture glitches appeared again, no matter what IGS driver i tried but it still the same. Also there are performance drop on the new IGS driver, i got higher framerates with Arc Control than the new redesigned driver. It's so frustrating because i have to downgrade GPU driver just to play this game while there are some newer game runs better on the latest driver.
Please look into this problem and fix it as soon as possible!
Thanks.

Hello KazutoYuuki,
Thank you for posting in the community. It seems that you have identified the issue with the latest driver. I have a few questions regarding the artifacts in your game to help us better understand and resolve the problem. Please answer the following questions:
- Can you provide the full make and model of your laptop?
- Besides this game, are there other games that are causing similar issues?
- Did you choose the custom installation and check the clean installation option for the graphics driver?
- Where did you download the game (Steam, Epic Games Store, etc.)?
- Can you share a screenshot of your game settings?
- What refresh rate and resolution are set on your display? Also, are you using an external monitor? If yes, can you share the model, refresh rate, and resolution set on the monitor?
- Does the texture glitch only appear on the mountain, or does it appear in random places?
Also, to better understand your entire system information, please use the System Support Utility (SSU). This will generate a text file that compiles all your system information. You can follow this link for instructions and send the text file here: Help Guide for the Intel® System Support Utility Thank you for your cooperation, and I look forward to your reply.

I'm so sorry for very late response. My bad, i thought my post aren't posted because it was marked as spam before, but thanks for your response DhannielM_Intel. I will give you some details here.
1. Actually i play the game on Windows gaming handheld. My device is MSI Claw A1M Ultra 7 155H.
2. So far i haven't see graphical glitches in other game.
3. Yes, i did clean install everytime i changed driver version.
4. I downloaded the game from steam launcher.
5. Sure, here is my game settings
6. Windows resolution is set to 1920 x 1080 with refresh rate 120Hz. I only use internal display, it also has VRR.
7. Not sure if it's random but i notice the weird purple thing appeared on mountain texture, grass, character head and some other darker area. I tried to restart the game, but those glitch seems like appeared on the same spot.
Also i provided Intel SSU Report below.
Thanks again for your reply, i really appreciate it!

Hello KazutoYuuki,
Thank you very much for providing this information. I see that your in game resolution is set to 1366x768. Can you tell me if you have tried using your native resolution on the game for testing? If yes, does the artifacts or glitcher occurs?
Best regards,

Hello KazutoYuuki,
Got it thanks for confirmation. I have a recommendation for you to try could you do the following steps:
- Update your BIOS to the latest version available. Contact MSI Support for instructions on this procedure.
- Install Intel® Arc™ Graphics Driver to version 32.0.101.6458. Find recommendations to prevent Windows Update driver rollbacks.
- Set the user scenario in MSI Center M to Balanced Mode and Enable Over Boost with the toggle selector (upper right corner) to enable optimized in-game performance. The Over Boost feature requires BIOS 108 or newer and a system restart when toggled. It is also suggested to have the OS in balanced mode while gaming. Please check the attached image for reference.
Then please let me know the outcome of doing these steps.
Best regards,

Hi DhannielM_Intel
Sorry to inform you that actually when i made this post i already updated MSI Claw BIOS to newest version which is E1T41IMS.10D. I also already enabled Overboost on Center M, using Balanced profile too. I even turned off VT-D and HT because it lowered performance since the Claw has much lower power limits compared to any laptop with Core Ultra 7 155H, so it need to make more room for the Arc iGPU power.
I tested again with the newest Intel Graphics Software 32.0.101.6458, i can confirm the performance is a bit better, but still the game sometimes stutter a bit just like before. I forgot to mention another thing, on the Arc Control 6078 actualy the game also suffer from stuttering issue.
Also this time i tested the game with highest settings at 1920x1080. Unfortunately newest driver made the game looks even worse.
I use highest settings to make a fair comparison to other people screenshot.
This screenshot is on Nvidia GPU. The game title screen normally looks like this.
However this is what it looks like on Arc iGPU
Keep in mind, both screenshot is on the same graphics settings, same resolution too. But as you can see on Arc iGPU it looks too bright, purple texture artifacts is still there, but now there are greens too if you zoom in the picture, as you can see on the trees at the left and right side.
However this things looks even worse during gameplay.
With highest settings at 1920x1080 it shows even bigger texture artifacts like this one.
For comparison, this is what it looks like when i turned down game resolution to 1366x768 and using the same graphics settings just like on my previous reply.
Honestly i think it's better to test the game on highest graphics settings on Arc GPU because it will clearly shows every graphical issue on this game. Technically i'm not sure what's wrong here, but i think maybe it's because the game use some special rendering technique that maybe hasn't implemented on the Arc driver, just my thought. But i do hope i can provide enough information to help you fix this issue.

Hello KazutoYuuki,
I see that you are using an Nvidia GPU. Could you please tell me the exact model? Additionally, is the system with the Nvidia GPU a laptop or a desktop? If possible, could you also send another SSU for this system?

Hi DhannielM_Intel
Actually that screenshot isn't mine. Not sure which GPU but i got the screenshot from internet, the game should looks like that on ultra settings.
Also Sword Art Online Alicization Lycoris use PhyreEngine, maybe you can check another title with this engine as well to see if Intel driver has issue with this game engine or maybe just few game.

Hello KazutoYuuki,
Thank you for your patience. After assessing the issue, it appears that your system graphics on your MSI Claw do not meet the minimum requirements for this game. While the game may work with an older graphics driver, it will not be properly supported if the system does not meet the minimum requirements.

That's very disappointing to hear.
My device "doesn't meet the requirements" because this game is released way long before Intel Arc even existed, theorically if you look at the game specs then Arc A770 also "doesn't meet the requirements" which is doesn't makes sense at all because we all know in raw performance Arc A770 is just as fast as RTX 3060. This is why i don't agree Arc 128EU on Meteor Lake isn't powerfull enough to run this game.
I tested so many games like FH4, COD Warzone and others. Actually Arc 128EU on Meteor Lake is faster than GTX 1050Ti on a laptop, meanwhile slower GPU like GTX1050 can run this game just fine, so my device isn't an issue here. You could try to run this game on Arc A770 and it still have broken graphics like in this post.
Also my biggest complain isn't about performance, it's about broken visual which my biggest concern here.
Honestly i want to support you guys and want Intel to have big success on GPU market. I'm sorry to say this, i really love Intel Arc but with that kind of response it's really hard to support you and your team. I can't even recommended Intel Arc GPU to anyone else if your driver quality are questionable like this.
Sorry but you will have a hard time gaining customer interest and market share if you keep being like that.
