Hello Tiago2,
Thank you for posting in the Intel Communities. We would be more than glad to help you with the performance issues with the Metro Last Night.
To better assist you, we would like to ask for the following information:
- When did the issue start?
- What is the game distribution service you used to install the game? (Steam, Microsoft Store, Epic Games, Game Pass)
- Did you have another graphics card before installing the Intel Arc A770?
- What is your Intel Arc A770 graphics card model? Do you have a Limited Edition card or a card from a different manufacturer: Asrock, MSI, GUNNIR, Sparkle, or Acer?
- Create a system report using the Intel
System Support Utility (Intel SSU) to have more details about your system: - Open the application and click "Scan" to see the system and device information. By default, Intel
SSU will take you to the "Summary View." - Click on the menu where it says: "Summary" to change it to "Detailed View."
- To save your scan: click "Next"; then "Save."
- Open the application and click "Scan" to see the system and device information. By default, Intel
Finally, we see that you also experienced a similar issue with the game State of Decay 2. It appears that you have encountered an issue with the game State of Decay 2, and we understand that you may have already reported a similar issue before. However, we kindly ask you to create a new thread to report this particular concern to keep the forum organized. We highly recommend reporting one thread per issue.
Best regards

Hello again,
The issues did not arise earlier because I didn't have a way to test the GPU before.
I used Steam for both games. In the case of State of Decay 2, my previous version was for Xbox, and I bought it on Steam to test, but it didn't change anything.
I didn't have any previous GPU in my system.
My model is the Founder Edition.

Hello Tiago2,
Based on your issue, we would like to recommend you install the new driver 31.0.101.4972. You should run the Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU) to eliminate all the driver files and leftovers from the previous drives to install the new version. Corrupted files from previous drivers may prevent the new drivers from working as expected.
We also would like to ask one more time for the system report using the Intel
- Open the application and click "Scan" to see the system and device information. By default, Intel
SSU will take you to the "Summary View." - Click on the menu where it says: "Summary" to change it to "Detailed View."

Hello again,
I have already reinstalled the drivers. At this moment, my CPU is the AMD Ryzen 9 7900X, and I have 32 GB of RAM.
I have encountered another issue with the drivers because, in the 'Games' tab, not all games are identified. So far, out of the five games I have installed, three are not recognized (The Last Stand Aftermath, Metro Last Night, and State of Decay 2).
Have a great day ahead!

Hello Tiago2,
Thank you for the information provided. We see that the problem remains after reinstalling the drivers. We will proceed to look into the Metro Last Night performance issue internally. We will proceed to look into this matter internally.
It is recommended that you create a thread regarding the issue with the 'Games' tab in Arc Control and the performance problem in the State of Decay 2 game. As previously mentioned, it is best to create separate threads for each issue to keep the topics organized and prevent confusion among users.
Best regards

Hello Tiago2,
After looking into this matter internally, we have been unable to replicate your issue using the 31.0.101.5081 driver. You can take a look at our video of our replication process. There you can see that the GPU usage was most of the time at 99%, and the game performance was good. Based on this, we would recommend you install the latest driver after running the DDU to eliminate all the previous driver versions.
Best regards

Good evening,
In this part of the game, I was having the same rendering, but in more spacious areas, parts that will appear in the nexts chapters, the GPU usage is much below 90%.
I tested it with the new update (31.0.101.5081), but unfortunately, I did not get a different result.
Thank you very much for your dedication.

Hello Tiago2,
You mentioned that the issue occurs in more spacious areas in the next captors. If this is correct, could you share more details about in what game areas the is issue present?
Since you mentioned that the areas are located in the next game chapters, would it be possible for you to share the game files? If so, we will contact you privately so you can share the game-saved files.
Best regards

Hello again,
One of the moments when the GPU starts to have much lower utilization than expected is at the 56:18 mark of this video https://youtu.be/BZ3mGZN7dsw?si=z0znd-DK_tbcTSkA.
After that scene, the utilization increases until the next scene where it is more populated, causing it to decrease.
Wishing you a good day ahead.

Hello Tiago2,
Thank you for your patience. We wanted to inform you that we have attempted to replicate the issue that you reported internally. However, after playing with the Intel ARC A770 on the latest Intel® Graphics Driver 31.0.101.5085/31.0.101.5122 (WHQL Certified), we did not encounter any performance issues, and the GPU activity remained at 99 or 100%.
We recommend that you run the DDU software once again to perform a clean installation of the latest driver version 31.0.101.5085/31.0.101.5122. If the issue persists even after installing the new driver, please provide us with the Intel SSU report to help us gather more detailed information about your system:
- Download the Intel SSU
- Open the application and click on "Scan" to see the system and device information. By default, Intel
SSU will take you to the "Summary View." - Click on the menu where it says: "Summary" to change it to "Detailed View."
- To save your scan: click on "Next"; then "Save."
Lastly, we would like to invite the community to share their experiences. If any other user is experiencing the same issue, feel free to join the discussion.
Best regards

Hello Tiago2,
We are checking in your thread to see if you were able to run the DDUD software to freshly install the new driver 31.0.101.5085/31.0.101.5122. Note that if the issue remains, it would be important to share the Intel SSU report to further look into this issue.

Hello, today I used the DDU, and I tested again the games that I had mentioned, I found a problem in the game State of Decay 2, instead of using the GPU it is using the CPU.
Apart from this problem, all the others remain

Hello Tiago2,
Please note that we are currently assisting you with the performance issue in the Metro Last Light game, where the GPU usage is below 20%. Have you tried running the DDU and installing the latest graphics drivers to see if the issue persists? Please remember that we have internally tested this game and have not been able to replicate the problem.
We understand that you are experiencing problems with the Metro Exodus game and the State of Decay 2 game is using the GPU instead of the CPU. If you are still experiencing issues with Metro Exodus and State of Decay 2, we suggest creating a new thread for each issue to keep it organized.
Best regards

Hello @Jean_Intel & @Tiago2 .
I can confirm that when playing Metro Last Light Complete Edition (Steam) on a A770M, there are levels/maps that only utilize ~20% GPU resources with a large fps drop as a result.
The level where I'm able to reproduce, is directly after the prologue when you enter the Metro, while wounded from the dark ones encounter. After you leave with Anna to the next level, the utalization is again ~99% and the performance is restored.
