No option to disable adaptive sync plus in Intel Graphics Software to allow full VRR range

There is currently no option to allow the full VRR range of my tv to be used in intel graphics software. Whenever I get around 60 fps in game with VRR on, the VRR refresh rate will rapidly switch between 60 and 120 hertz, causing bad flicker, instead of using the full 40-120 hertz range of my tv. A current workaround is to download the old Intel Graphics Command Center from the Microsoft store which has the option to disable adaptive sync plus which allows the full vrr range to be used. However, this option doesn't save whenever I restart my computer or when entering exclusive fullscreen in a game, so there is no way for me to use the full vrr range while in exclusive fullscreen.

Hi CheezyFoodz,

Thank you for reaching out to the Intel Community Forum. To assist us in investigating the issue, please provide the following details:

  • Is this working fine before?
  • Have you tried using the Beta version of the Intel Graphics Command Center?
  • Have you tried disabling any system optimization programs that can override IGCC settings?

Additionally, to gain a comprehensive understanding of your system, please use the System Support Utility (SSU). This tool will generate a text file compiling all your system information. You can follow the instructions at this link and send the text file here. Help Guide for the Intel® System Support Utility.

If you have any questions, please let us know. Thank you.

I've never been able to use the full VRR range while in exclusive mode. Both the beta and non beta versions of Intel Graphics Command Center have the option to turn off Adaptive Sync Plus, but they both get reverted when entering exclusive fullscreen mode or when restarting. The Intel Graphics Command Center programs will still show that the adaptive sync plus options is off, but my tv shows the refresh rate won't go below 60 hertz without re-enabling and disabling the setting.

I attached the SSU report. I'm fine if this issue can't be solved right now as I'm still able to use borderless fullscreen for most games. I just hope it eventually gets integrated to be a part of Intel Graphics Software.

Hi CheezyFoodz,

Thank you for the update. I checked your SSU and saw that the driver is currently 32.0.101.6129. To further check, please install the latest driver 32.0.101.6989 and perform a Clean Installation.

My driver somehow kept reverting back to 32.0.101.6129 so I just used DDU and tried reinstalling the driver and it now currently shows I'm on the new driver. The issue is still there of not being able to use the full VRR range in exclusive fullscreen. Something new I noticed is it seems VRR breaks instead of just changing the setting whenever I try entering exclusive fullscreen with adaptive sync plus disabled. The refresh rate rapidly switches between a large and small value (but not below 60 hertz) no matter what fps I'm getting in the game, while when I enter exclusive fullscreen with adaptive sync plus on it uses the 60-120 hertz range like normal.

Hi CheezyFoodz,

To further troubleshoot, please answer the following questions:

  1. What is the make and model of the TV you're using?
  2. What type of video cable and port you're utilizing?
  3. Which game you're playing when you noticed this issue?
  4. When did the issue begin to occur?
  5. Please provide the game settings so I can replicate the issue and what digital service you use to play the games.

I also acknowledged your feedback about the Intel Graphics Software.

Best regards,

I'm using the LG G3 and a 2.1b HDMI cable. This issue first occurred back when I first got the card around April 2025. I was playing Robocop Rouge City on steam and noticed I would get bad flickering whenever I would get around 60 fps in game. I found the solution with Intel Graphics Control Center, however I noticed the flickering would often come back and I would have to re-enable and disable the setting to get it to stop. I also couldn't find a way to get it to work in exclusive fullscreen.

I've now found that vrr with adaptive sync plus off will behave normal after entering exclusive fullscreen until the framerate drops below 60, in which it will rapidly switch between 2 values no matter how far it goes below 60. It does not match the correct behavior for adaptive sync plus being on or off, as when adaptive sync plus is on the refresh rate should just be a multiple of the current fps, and when adaptive sync is off it should match the current fps.

I've attached a video that shows how the problem happens that includes the current framerate of the game compared to the refresh rate of the tv. Note that by default to enter true exclusive fullscreen in many games on Windows you have to select a different resolution then the current active signal resolution Windows is running at due to a feature in Windows that makes exclusive fullscreen behave like borderless fullscreen. Changing a setting such as the refresh rate or bits per color and then re-entering a game should also trigger the issue.

Hi CheezyFoodz,

Thank you for sharing the video of the issue with us. To help us accurately replicate the problem, could you please provide a full screenshot of your game settings? Additionally, let us know if this issue occurs only while you are playing the game.

In line with this, a video of the flickering will be useful.

This information will assist us in pinpointing the exact root cause.

The problem occurs in all games. It's hard to get the flickering to appear in a recording, however whenever the VRR info is showing large changes in the refresh rate the flicker is visible in person. From what I've read, flicker with VRR seems to be an issue that mostly affects OLED screens, and other types of screens may not get flicker when there are large changes in refresh rate and probably have no reason to need to turn off adaptive sync plus.

Here are the settings I'm currently using to replicate the problem. However, the issue is not specific to these settings. VRR with adaptive sync plus disabled stops working correctly whenever a change is made that causes a brief black screen, such as entering exclusive fullscreen or changing the bits per color, and will remain broken in all games when getting under 60 fps until adaptive sync plus is toggled on and off again.

It looks like I have exactly the same issue but on different hardware.

I have Core Ultra 9 275HX and monitor Philips Evnia 32M2N6800M. Monitor is connected through thunderbolt USB-C. This monitor has VRR range 48-144Hz but for some reason Intel Graphics Software says "Current Variable Refresh Rate Range 60Hz - 120Hz" even if I use 144Hz refresh rate.

I'm checking this range effectively with app https://github.com/Nixola/VRRTest and indeed VRR doesn't work below 60Hz. In order to make it work I need to launch old/legacy Intel Graphics Command Center, go to Display->Global settings and enable/disable Adaptive Sync Plus (ASP).

Then I can have full VRR range working properly.
My drivers version are 32.0.101.7028
