OpenGL Mesh Shaders

Are there any plans to add OpenGL Mesh Shaders to Intel GPUs? Nvidia has had them for a while and AMD is about to get them. OpenGL Mesh Shader support is kind of a big deal to Minecraft players because a specific performance mod called Nvidium uses this feature to *drastically* improve performance. I was just thinking about how I might want to use an Intel GPU over other brands if I ever build a PC, but I'm a heavy Minecraft player, and after remembering this, I might have to second guess.

Hi TheAbsol,

Thank you for reaching out. I would like to confirm that we currently support Mesh Shader extensions for Vulkan and DirectX 12 Ultimate only. At this time, we do not support Mesh Shader extensions for OpenGL.

Regarding future updates or plans to introduce new features and support, we are unable to comment at this moment.

Additionally, please note that the mod you are interested in utilizes Mesh Functions that are proprietary to Nvidia. According to the developer, this means the mod will not function on non-Nvidia GPUs.

I think so. Though, I saw an AMD GitHub request for a GL_NV_MESH_SHADER equivalent and was wondering if it's possible for Intel Arc/Battlemage to implement something similar.

I know this is an old post, but it looks like OpenGL mesh shaders have been mostly implemented into AMD cards by now. Developers are already working on supporting this feature, including the mod that uses proprietary Nvidia features. I'd love for Intel to add this.

Even if they manage to implement it (I really doubt it), they will reserve it for the next GPU gen like as they did with HAGS and Battlemage.

No hope at all. Im about to give up with this gpu, just doing numbers
