Having a issue with the last update for graphics. Been trying to update for 3 days now. Still processing. Rebooting did nothing. No way to stop or pause this installation that I can see. Has lagging effect of graphics when switching windows. But seems to run everything fine after that buffers.

Hello Don65,
Thank you for posting in the community. I want to set the right expectations regarding this matter. We generally do not recommend using the Intel Driver Support Assistant (IDSA) for Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) laptops, as OEMs provide their own drivers tailored to their specific system requirements. The drivers available through IDSA are generic Intel drivers without the customizations necessary for your system. Additionally, Acer offers a similar application to IDSA, which I advise you to use for driver updates that are suitable for your laptop.
Moving forward, I highly recommend installing the OEM graphics driver from your laptop manufacturer's website. It's important to perform a clean installation to ensure the graphics driver is properly installed. Before proceeding, please download the driver from your laptop manufacturer's website using this link: Aspire A514-54 Graphics Driver (30.0.101.1404)
After downloading, please follow the steps below:
- Disconnect from the internet to make sure the driver will not be automatically updated by Windows.
- Go back to the Intel Graphics entry in the Device Manager.
- Right-click Intel Graphics and click Uninstall.
- In the device removal dialog box, check Delete the driver software for this device and click OK.
- Restart the computer after the uninstallation is complete.
- Open the Device Manager.
- Expand the Display adapters section again.
- If no older drivers are stored in the system, the graphics controller in Device Manager should now be listed as Microsoft Basic Display Adapter, Standard VGA Graphics Adapter or similar. If not, repeat steps 2 through 5.
- Reboot the computer when prompted.
Execute Clean installation of driver:
- Click the .exe to initiate the driver installation.
- Agree to the Intel Software License Agreement.
- Click the checkbox to Execute a clean installation.
- A clean installation removes all old drivers and restores Intel settings to the default value
- Click Start to begin the install.
- Reboot the system if prompted.
If the above method cannot resolve the issue, try to use Display Driver Uninstaller to uninstall the graphics driver first, refer to: How to Use the Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU) to Uninstall an Intel® Graphics Driver.
If you prefer to install the latest driver from the Intel website, please download the most recent version (32.0.101.6734) and follow the same steps for a clean installation. After completing the process, let me know the results.
