During the latest driver update to 6449, I noticed a reference in the process pertaining to the firmware update.
It stated to make sure the system was connected with HDMI.
Maybe it has been there all along but I just noticed it for the first time.
My A770 has always been connected using DisplayPort.
Is there a particular reason Intel specified HDMI?
Does the firmware updating only happen IF an HDMI cable is connected?
I'm curious.
For the record....I've done just about every single update sine purchasing the card in December 2022 and only had one freeze in game...ironically, today.
I simply task managed and stopped the process then restarted the game and have not had it since.
One freeze in just over two years...I'll take those numbers.

Hello Saabjack,
Thank you for sharing observation regarding the firmware update process and your A770's connection type. I appreciate the additional details, and it's good to know that you've had a stable experience with the card overall.
Please answer the following questions:
- Could you clarify where you have noticed the reference to using HDMI during the firmware update? If possible, kindly share a screenshot.
- Since your setup uses DisplayPort, have you ever connected the A770 via HDMI during updates? If so, have you noticed any improvements or performance or is it still the same?
I look forward to your response!
Best Regards,
Robbie R.

I have never connected my display via HDMI...preferring to use DisplayPort instead.
I do notice (in the on-screen menus associated with every Intel driver update)...specifically with reference to the firmware update, it states to verify connection by HDMI.
Does that mean the firmware is ignored if DisplayPort is used?
