Firmware to Enable Support VVC (H.266) on Intel ARC Alchemist

I will go straight to the point; will Intel release a firmware to enable support for VVC (H.266) hardware encode and decode on Intel ARC Alchemist?

I ask this because it was previously alluded to on some interviews by intel back when intel was gearing up to release alchemist.

According to what I remember the hardware in intel arc alchemist media engine is reprogrammable! to accommodate new type of workload / instruction sets.

I would like to inform you that Intel® Arc A-Series GPUs do not support the VVC (H.266) codec, as they lack the necessary hardware. Therefore, no firmware update will enable this functionality.

For reference, please see the Intel Graphics Media Driver documentation under "Decoding/Encoding Features."

I've read through the documentation, and it seems alchemist indeed support's VVC decoding. what it doesn't support at the moment is encode.

Since it appears to support decoding VVC than maybe it has the hardware for encode?

I might be wrongly interpreting the details in the documentation!?
