hello, I bought the b580 and later realized how important rebar is. I am now looking towards a motherboard upgrade, however I am getting conflicting information regarding 8th gen intel cpus. I saw some claim that if a motherboard supports it, rebar can run on older cpus, and others claim that it isnt true. at any rate I need to know if the i7 8700 can support rebar with the correct motherboard, thanks ahead of time for any help

it's dependent both on the chipset of your CPU and the motherboard, but in reality, its mostly the CPU. i7 8700 is too old before rebar was really supported on CPUs so you have to upgrade your CPU and motherboard since its different platforms, but you get to keep the RAM if you decide to get a 10-14th gen CPU
