Hi, I've been experiencing a weird problem, i have an Asrock B450m Pro4 r2.0 motherboard and an Intel Arc B570 (Challenger OC) GPU, i have a Ryzen 5 2600 it actually works fine, but when i try to use any Ryzen 5000 series, when the PC starts i have a black screen, i type Y on keyboard (cause when u change CPU it ask to type Y or N) and then i hear the windows sound but nothing on screen. I tried everything (almost i guess, if there's a solution but it might be simply a compatibility issue), disabling CMS, enable 4G, rebar, PCIe priority, force gen3 instead of auto, disable iGPU when i tried with a 5600GT, but actually i'm trying with a 5500, no iGPU and it's the same...
My question is simple, is there a solution or is it definitively a compatibility issue ? oh and of course i flashed the bios with the last version (10.60 in that case), when i use my old GPU everything good so the CPU works properly, and when i use a Ryzen 5 2600 with the Intel Arc B570 everything is fine, so the GPU works, but why with Ryzen 5000 series CPU, the Intel Arc B570 isn't recognized anymore ???
Plz if anyone can help me (sorry for my bad english)

Hi Exod3us,
Thank you for reaching out. To better diagnose the issue, I would appreciate it if you could provide the following information:
- What PSU wattage and model are you using?
- Have you tried disabling the SVM (Secure Virtual Machine) feature in your BIOS settings?
- What is the make and model of the old GPU that works properly with your Ryzen 5000 series CPU?
Thank you for your time, and I look forward to your response.
Best Regards,
Duran J.

1. I've a Textorm 500+ it's a 500W
2. I just tried to disable SVM but it doesn't change anything
3. Actually i'm using the 5500 with a GeForce GTX 1050 Ti and it works fine

This is a classic "UEFI handshake" issue specifically seen when pairing Intel Arc (Alchemist or Battlemage) GPUs with Ryzen 5000 series CPUs on older AM4 motherboards. Since both components work in other configurations, the hardware is fine—the problem lies in how the BIOS handles the Resizable BAR (Re-size BAR) and Video BIOS (VBIOS) during the transition from a non-UEFI to a full UEFI environment. Hi Exod3us,
Thank you for your patience. I have additional questions to help narrow down the issue, please let me know the following:
- Since you have tried a different GPU, have you tried performing DDU?
- Have you tried installing the latest driver version for your GPU?
- What display cable are you currently using?
- Have you tried using straight HDMI to HDMI or DP to DP?
Thank you, and I look forward to your response.
Best Regards,

Hi Duran J.,
1. I didn't do a DDU, i'll try that
2. I'm using the last Intel Graphics Software, it says my driver is up to date
3. I'm using and HDMI cable
4. I can't try with a DP, my screen doesn't have that
Thank you to try helping me, but i think there's lot of problems with these old motherboards, i will certainly buy a new one, do you know any motherboard that would be perfect with the Intel Arc Challenger B570 and the Ryzen 5 5500, and my SSD Kingston SNV3S1000G ?
Have a nice day Duran
