Hello. After installing video driver 31.0.101.4953 for intel arc a730m on lapac71h laptop, Resizable BAR stops working. On version 31.0.101.4575 everything works fine. How to solve this problem?

Hello Bellarion,

Thank you for posting on the Intel communities. I see the Resizable Bar is not working for your Intel® NUC X15 Laptop Kit - LAPAC71H after updating the driver to version 31.0.101.4953, I will be happy to help you.

To understand this issue in a better way, please answer the following questions:

  • How do you know that Resizable Bar is not working? Is there a error message? Or is it not possible to enable it?
  • Just for you to know the driver 31.0.101.4953 is a generic version of the graphics driver for the Intel® NUC X15 Laptop Kit - LAPAC71H, the one we recommend to install for this device is 31.0.101.4575. Is there is a specific reason why you want to use 31.0.101.4953?
  • To know your hardware and software environment, attach the Intel® System Support Utility for Windows (SSU) report, you can find the steps on the link How to get the Intel® System Support Utility Logs on Windows.

In Intel Arc Control, under system information it says "unsupported".
The reason for updating to the latest version is to fix bugs.
Intel Driver and Support Assistant also suggests updating to the latest version.

Hello Bellarion,

Thank you for your clarification, that helps a lot.

Please answer and follow the steps below, and let me know the results:

  • Last week we released a new graphics driver, please follow the guidance below:
  1. Clean install the graphics driver with Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU) using the article How to Use the Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU) to Uninstall an Intel® Graphics Driver.
    1. Install the latest graphics driver version 31.0.101.5074.

After the driver update:

  • Does Intel® Arc™ Control show the Resizable Bar as enabled?
  • Does the BIOS show the Resizable Bar as enabled?
  • If the issue persists, download GPU-Z (Third-party tool) and check if the Resizable Bar shows as Enabled.

After installing 5074. In Intel Arc Control, under system information it says "unsupported". GPU-Z the Resizable Bar shows as Enabled. Intel NUC Software Studio does not display the temperature and frequency of Intel Arc a730m.

Hello Bellarion,

Thank you for your response and for completing all the recommended steps.

Since GPU-Z shows Resizable Bar as Enabled and Intel® Arc™ Control shows Resizable Bar as unsupported. It appears to be aesthetic in nature since Resizable BAR is enabled. We are aware of the situation and Intel is investigating this issue. We are working really hard to solve this issue as soon as possible.

Let me know if you have further questions.
