Spacecraft

The game is Spacecraft on Steam made by Shiro Games.

Pretty self explanatory from the image. It's a layer of fog or something similar in the atmosphere. I've alerted the Devs through the helpdesk but someone suggested that I post it here as well in case there's anything that could be done on this end.

Hi WeirdestMammal,

Thank you for reaching out to the Intel Community Forum. To assist us in investigating the issue, please provide the following details:

  1. When does the issue start to occur?
  2. How long has the system been working properly?
  3. May I know the exact make and model of the GPU you are using?
  4. May I know the exact make, model, and wattage of the PSU you are using?
  5. What is the graphics driver you are using? Have you tried using Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU) to install the latest graphics driver available for your GPU?
  6. Does the issue occur immediately when the game starts, or only after playing for a while?
  7. Please run the Intel System Support Utility (SSU) and attach the report for system diagnostics:
    • Download link: Intel SSU Tool
    • After downloading, open the tool, run a scan (leave default options), click Next, then save the results as a .txt file, and attach it in your reply.
      • Please note: While generating the SSU report, kindly uncheck the “Networking” option.

If you have any questions, please let us know. Thank you.

Best regards,

It's a commonly reported issue across all of the Arc user's for this game as far as I'm aware. From what they've said the Devs for the game are aware of it and are working on something on their end. Not being pedantic or sarcastic, but genuinely if you guys are gonna put time into fixing it, they're a small team and someone could reach out to them. https://shirogames.com/studio/#Team

Arc B580, I5-14400, Asus Tuf Z690 plus Wifi D4 bios revision 4505, Thermaltake 1300w, Arc driver 8826, clean install and shader cache refresh from the game directory as well.

1. Play the game. It's ever present in the atmosphere of every planet you visit. It looks to be some kind of shader/ texture/ lighting issue that occurs that a specific height in the atmosphere. There is a specific altitude where it completely blacks your screen and when you're on the surface it appears to float around like it's intended purpose is to be some kind of fog or mist potentially.

2. V.0.3.22159. It's a live service/ MMO that only allows the newest version to be played as it features an always online connection to Developer hosted servers.

3. All of them. I've tested every variant of quality/ shadows/ clouds/ SSAO/ environment/ texture that I possibly could. My monitor is a Samsung G70b 28" 4k running at 120fps, I also have a 1080p Acer monitor running at 165hz, both of them exhibit the "black bees" while displaying the game.

4. I haven't tested an older driver personally, from what the people who were involved in the playtest said (it just went to Early Access within the last week or so) this has been a known Arc issue for a number of driver updates, and as far as I know it's never worked correctly for Arc users, though I may be wrong about that.
