Subject: Report on Abnormally Low GPU Utilization and Framerate Issues in PUBG with Intel Arc A580 (

Dear Intel Arc Dedicated Graphics Team, I am writing to specifically report a performance issue I’ve been facing with my Intel Arc A580 graphics card while playing PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds (PUBG) at 1080p resolution. As a user who values Intel’s commitment to refining the Arc series, I hope this detailed feedback helps address issues that impact real-world gaming experiences. Since using the Intel Arc A580 (Asrock Challenger OC Edition) to run PUBG, I have consistently encountered two critical problems: extremely low GPU utilization and unacceptably low framerates—regardless of whether I use high or low graphical settings. At 1920x1080 resolution (fullscreen mode, the recommended display setting for PUBG), the GPU load never exceeds 40% even when all in-game graphics are set to "Ultra" (including texture quality, shadow quality, and post-processing). Surprisingly, when I lower settings to "Low" (disabling shadows, reducing texture detail, and turning off anti-aliasing), the GPU utilization drops further to 25-30%—a level that far underperforms what should be expected from a card positioned to deliver smooth 1080p gaming. This underutilization directly results in poor framerate performance. Despite PUBG’s recommended specifications for 1080p "High" settings (which the Arc A580 should easily meet), my average framerate only reaches 70-80 FPS—and this drops to 55-65 FPS during intense in-game moments (such as firefights, parachuting into crowded areas, or driving vehicles). This is a significant gap from the smooth 100+ FPS that similar-tier GPUs (like the NVIDIA RTX 2060) consistently deliver in PUBG at the same resolution and settings, making gameplay feel choppy and affecting competitive performance. I have taken extensive troubleshooting steps to rule out external causes, but the issue persists: The graphics card is running the latest official Intel Arc driver (version 32.0.101.6297), and PUBG is updated to the latest patch (Version 2.7.0.141). My system meets and exceeds PUBG’s recommended requirements: Intel Core i7-9700K (no overclocking), 16GB DDR4-3200 RAM, and Windows 10 22H2 (Build 19045.3693). Resizable BAR (ReBAR) is enabled in BIOS—a feature highlighted for Arc series optimization—but it has no noticeable impact on GPU utilization or framerate in PUBG. I have verified game files via Steam, disabled background applications (including antivirus and overlay tools), and even reinstalled PUBG—none of these steps resolved the issue. I was encouraged by Intel’s recent success in improving Arc B580 performance via driver version 7028, which fixed CPU overhead issues and boosted framerates by up to 30% through better resource scheduling. This gives me hope that a similar driver-level optimization could address the Arc A580’s underutilization in PUBG—potentially targeting API (DirectX 11, PUBG’s primary rendering API) efficiency, clock speed stagnation (my card often remains locked at 600-800 MHz during gameplay), or game-specific shader compilation. As a gamer who chose the Arc A580 for its advertised 1080p performance and value, I’m eager to see it reach its full potential in PUBG—a title with a large player base that relies heavily on consistent framerates. I would greatly appreciate updates on any upcoming driver releases or troubleshooting tools tailored to this issue. Please let me know if you need additional details, such as GPU-Z logs, in-game benchmark screenshots, or system diagnostic reports to further diagnose the problem. Thank you for your attention to this matter and for your ongoing work to enhance the Intel Arc ecosystem. I look forward to your response. Sincerely, [Your Full Name] [Your Contact Information] System Configuration Summary: Graphics Card: Intel Arc A580 (Asrock Challenger OC Edition) Driver Version: 32.0.101.6297 CPU: Intel Core i7-9700K @ 3.6 GHz RAM: 16GB DDR4-3200 OS: Windows 10 22H2 (Build 19045.3693) Game: PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds (PUBG, Steam Version 2.7.0.141) Monitor Resolution: 1920x1080 @ 120Hz

Email Subject: Feedback on Performance Issues of Intel Arc A580 Graphics Card When Running PUBG at 1080p Resolution

To Intel Customer Support Team (Technician Kent Russell P.):

Hello, I am the user who communicated with you earlier. I am writing to provide detailed feedback on the performance anomalies of the Intel Arc A580 discrete graphics card when running PUBG at 1080p resolution:

My current device is equipped with the Intel Arc A580 discrete graphics card, and the game is set to run at 1080p resolution. During the operation of PUBG, the following core issues occur:

1. Common anomalies in both rendering modes:

- Whether DirectX 11 (DX11) or DirectX 12 (DX12) is enabled, the GPU utilization rate of the graphics card remains extremely low (only around 40% in some scenarios);

- The game experiences severe stuttering during the landing phase, which has seriously affected the normal gaming experience.

2. Additional performance in different rendering modes:

- DirectX 11 mode: There is a "precipitous drop" in frame rate — the frame rate suddenly plummets from over 100 FPS to around 40 FPS during gameplay, with an extremely large fluctuation range;

- DirectX 12 mode: The frame rate is relatively stable, but due to the failure to fully utilize the GPU (GPU utilization rate cannot reach the normal level), the overall frame rate fails to meet the hardware's inherent performance level.

Could you please assist in investigating the cause of this issue (such as driver compatibility, adaptation logic between the game and the graphics card, hardware scheduling mechanism, etc.) and provide corresponding optimization or solutions? Additionally, I hope that future graphics card driver updates will optimize this issue to improve the hardware utilization rate and frame rate stability when running PUBG at 1080p resolution.

Thank you for your support and follow-up.

Best regards,

Subject: Re: Follow-up on Intel Arc A580 PUBG GPU Utilization & Framerate Issues

Hi Kent,

Thank you for following up on my issue. I’ve reviewed the information you shared earlier and have implemented the suggested troubleshooting steps (including driver updates to the latest Arc Game Ready version, in-game setting adjustments, and disabling background processes).

However, the problem persists: GPU utilization remains abnormally low (hovering around 30-40% during gameplay) and framerates are unstable (fluctuating between 40-70 FPS on 1080p medium settings), which significantly impacts the gaming experience. I’ve also tested with different in-game graphics presets and verified that no other hardware bottlenecks (CPU/RAM/SSD) are present.

Could you provide further guidance on additional troubleshooting steps, or confirm if there’s a known compatibility issue between the Arc A580 and PUBG that’s being addressed in future driver updates? Any technical insights or escalation paths would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for your assistance.

Best regards,
