Uncharted 4

Hi, good morning, I'm having problems with Uncharted 4, it's been a while since I've had problems with this game, frame drops that don't make sense, at least for me, in this case I have an arc b580, can you tell me what you need to see the problem?
note: I'm not using the latest version because I'm having a lot of crash problems because of the DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL blue screen memory management with this message.

Hi AsterCrash,

Thank you for reaching out to the Intel Community Forum. To assist us in investigating the issue, please provide the following details:

  • Does the issue occur only during cutscenes? Or does it also happen during regular gameplay or menus?
  • When did the issue start? Was it after a specific driver update or game patch?
  • What are the troubleshooting steps that you tried so far?
  • Is the Resizable Bar enabled?
  • Have you used Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU) to completely remove all residual drivers and installed a new one?
  • Have you tried adjusting the graphics settings?
  • Could you provide a screenshot of your in-game display and graphics settings?
  • Which gaming platform did you use to download the game?

I would also like to obtain 3 CapFrameX log to thoroughly analyze the FPS performance. Kindly ensure that the game would run for a minimum of 3 minutes each.

Additionally, to gain a comprehensive understanding of your system, please use the System Support Utility (SSU). This tool will generate a text file compiling all your system information. You can follow the instructions at this link and send the text file here. Help Guide for the Intel® System Support Utility.

If you have any questions, please let us know. Thank you.

The problem also happens in cutscenes; it's as if any change in effect has a high impact.
During the game, in the menus, I didn't notice any FPS drops.
It's been a while because I simply ignored it, but since I bought the game over a year ago,
I've already tried reinstalling the driver from scratch with DDU, clearing the cache via command line, reinstalling the game, and reinstalling Windows.
Yes, the bar is active.
Yes, I've already used DDU.
I've already put everything on low; it increases the FPS a lot, but in terms of frame drops, there are still some, and also crashes depending on the moment.
Yes, but my game is in Brazilian Portuguese.
I'm using Steam.
I'll attach the screenshot and the SSU file.

Hi AsterCrash,

Thank you for providing the update and providing the asked logs. Based on this information, I recommend updating your BIOS to the latest version and installing the latest graphics driver version 32.0.101.8531 (Latest). As I have checked that there is a new BIOS version available PRO B660M-P DDR4 Motherboard M-ATX - Intel 12th Gen Processors. You may contact your motherboard manufacturer to help you assist with this if in case you need guidance

Please update me on the results after completing these updates and kindly generate another SSU log once you've completed both updates so I can analyze any changes in your system configuration.

If you have any questions, please let us know. Thank you.

Here we have a big problem because the last two driver versions are causing a black screen with the following error, as I mentioned above: DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL. This applies to both the version that included XESS MFG and the latest one with RE Requiem support. So I'm reverting to the version I had on my SSU because it's not causing the black screen.

I found the solution for the blue screen driver issue was the GPU scheduling in Windows; HAGS was disabled. It seems that MFG needs and depends on it. Currently, I can't update my BIOS because I don't have a USB drive.

Hi AsterCrash,

Please let me know which specific issue you would like to focus on, as we can only support one issue per case.

I'm glad to also know that disabling HAGS fixed the blue screen issue. With that being said, I would then like to ask if this has resolved your initial issue? If not, if possible, could you also provide the exact game settings you're using on Uncharted 4 so we can check and replicate the issue on our end? This information will help us better assist you with your specific concern.

I would also like to request another SSU log included with the game settings.

In this case, activating HAGS resolves the black screen issue, and I want to solve the FPS drop problem in Uncharted 4.

Hi AsterCrash,

Thank you for the update on disabling HAGS resolves the black screen issue and would now want to focus on your FPS issue. I will further investigate this concern to help resolve the performance issue. If possible, could you kindly provide your exact game settings and game version by taking screenshots of the in-game options? This will allow us to check your configuration on our end to better understand and address the FPS drop.

Hi AsterCrash,

After investigation, based on the data you provided, the performance is similar to a competitor's GPU (RTX 4060), with an average of 100 FPS, which is within expected parameters. However, I noticed that the 1% low appears to be slightly lower than expected. I also observed that you're using 2133 MHz RAM, which could be contributing to this behavior. Open-world or semi-open-world games often rely heavily on I/O throughput for texture streaming, and higher-speed memory can help improve performance consistency. Using faster RAM may therefore help raise the 1% low values and reduce stutters. You may do this by enabling XMP/DOCP profiles in your BIOS to increase your current RAM speed. If you need further assistance with this, I recommended to contact your motherboard manufacturer for specific guidance.

Please let me know the results after making these changes. If you have any other questions, please let us know. Thank you.

I've done this memory overclock before, but the PC would freeze occasionally, so I didn't do it again.

Hi AsterCrash,

We are still investigating your concern. However, I would like to ask, if possible, have you tried using another RAM with a higher speed memory module as part of your troubleshooting process? As which could potentially provide better performance and stability for your system.

If you have any questions, please let us know. Thank you.

Hi AsterCrash,

I apologize for any inconvenience you've experienced with this issue. After reviewing your case, we are not experiencing the same issue on our end with similar system configurations.

Since you're not able to try other memory configurations to further isolate the problem, it would be better to contact the game developer Naughty Dog directly. They will have more detailed knowledge about known compatibility issues and potential workarounds specific to their game.

Thank you for your understanding, and I apologize that we couldn't provide a more direct solution to your concern. With that, I will be closing this thread. If you need further assistance, please submit a new question, as this thread will no longer be monitored.
