Hello Brozanski1985,

Thank you for posting in Intel community Forum.

First of all, I am sorry to hear that. I hope everything is working fine aside from the hard drive.

For me to better understand and diagnose the issue further, let me ask you to provide detailed responses to the following questions. This information will help me isolate the problem and determine the most appropriate course of action moving forward.

  1. What is the model of your Graphics controller?
  2. How did you update the driver?
  3. How did you update the driver?
  4. Was there an interruption in the middle of installation of the driver like power fluctuation or did the system hang?
  5. Are you using a laptop or a desktop?
  6. Can you provide the brand and model of your system?

If you have questions, please let us know. Thank you.

Best regards,

Hi Mike,
The card in question is an intel arc a770 sparkle. It was updated through a direct download from intel. There were no interruptions during the process. This is a desktop with a ryzen 3900 chipset, am4 socket, msi motherboard.
Bios recognizes the hard drive but windows will not. I don't have a spare drive to swap out, and trying to reinstall windows errors out.
I downloaded the update installed it, the system asked to restart and never booted again.
Thank you for the response

Hello Brozanski1985,

Thank you for the quick reply.

Technically speaking, there is no direct connection that Graphics driver can cause a hardware failure.

Have you tried to check if the drive is already faulty? Have you tried to contact also the manufacturer of the driver to report the issue and claim Warranty if the drive is faulty?

If you have questions, please let us know. Thank you.

Hi Mike,
I have reset the cmos, tried to reinstall windows. And also this drive is only 6 months old, I know they fail.
I updated arc and then complete lockout from all drives and no access to anything other than an error message I've never seen.
Thanks for your attempted help, this is really disappointing as this was the most expensive part on the computer and causes the most faults.
I will not recommend this gpu to anyone, should of stuck with amd never had issues with there gpus even with an intel core.
Thanks for the help

Hello Brozanski1985,

We apologize for the inconvenience you are experiencing. We would like to clarify that graphics drivers and storage systems operate independently, so there is no direct connection between them. The storage issue you are encountering likely has a different underlying cause.

Given this, we strongly recommend contacting your hard drive manufacturer for technical support. They can assist you further and, if necessary, help you request a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA). This may also help resolve the Windows-related problems you have reported.

Since you need to contact the manufacturer of the drive moving forward, I need to close this inquiry.

If you need further assistance, please post a new question as this thread will no longer be monitored.

Thank you for your understanding and patience
