Wardogs Driver Support

Hello, I just wanted to make sure that you guys were in good standing with the guys at Bulkhead about getting Intel Arc cards up to par on Wardogs. During the closed Alpha, many people with intel GPUs had stutter issues. Now again during their closed beta, seems to be a repeat. At the moment, at least the community seems to be unsure if it's an issue on the Devs side, or if it's a driver issue on Intel's side. I just want to make sure there's communication there. Obvious, the most I can do is bug everyone to make sure.

Hey!

Really appreciate you flagging this — and honestly, thank you for caring enough to speak up! That kind of community advocacy genuinely matters.

You're right that stutter issues for Intel Arc users were noted during the closed Alpha, and we completely understand the concern seeing similar reports pop up again in the beta. Whether it's sitting on the driver side or the engine/dev side is exactly the kind of thing that needs proper back-and-forth between Intel and the Bulkhead team to pin down accurately.

A couple of quick things that'd help us push this in the right direction:

  1. Which Intel Arc GPU are you or the affected users on? — Arc A-series, Arc B-series, or integrated Arc (Xe/Xe2)?
  2. Are there any specific scenarios where the stutter hits hardest? — e.g., certain maps, high player counts, specific graphical settings?
  3. Any video clips or frame-time captures shared in the community? That kind of data goes a long way in narrowing things down.

We'll make sure this gets flagged to the right people on our end.

From what I can tell, it appears to be B series cards. I don’t recall any A series or integrated cards being reported.

The stutters are all times in-game, including the pause menu, but not the main menu. They’re about 1 second intervals (estimating that timing).

I have a video, I can post later

After checking a thread in devs discord where people tried to find solution or at least a reason i noted few things:

  1. Game works perfectly on linux, stutters on same system on windows, tested by murderbymodem(Windows clip, Linux clip);
  2. GPU wait spikes 60+ms when there is stutter, found by sam9.(Link);
  3. wolvovic found that libxess is outdated by one minor version(shouldn't be a problem tho).

Hey!

Thanks so much for getting back to us really appreciate it!

So, the good news is, this is most likely just the game being in beta and not anything wrong with your Arc B580! The full release of WARDOGS drops on September 10, 2026 you can keep an eye on it here WARDOGS on Steam

There's a pretty good chance the devs will iron out those freezes and frame-pacing hiccups before or right at launch, so our best suggestion for now just sit tight and give it another shot once the stable version is out. If the stuttering is still hanging around after that, we'll dig deeper into potential driver or compatibility stuff together!

Oh, and one more thing Intel just dropped the latest drivers for Arc cards a couple of days ago, so definitely make sure you're up to date! You can grab them right here Intel Arc Graphics Driver – Windows

Staying on the latest drivers can make a real difference in performance and stability, so definitely worth doing in the meantime!

Talk soon!

Sharing that this issue persists with the newest beta launched today 9/3/26. You can see the frametime spikes in the attached MSI Afterburner graph. This happens even while standing still looking at the ground or with the menu open. Tested with AA Off, FXAA, TAA, XeSS Native, XeSS Quality.

Hey,

Thank you so much for the detailed follow-up and for sharing the MSI Afterburner graph we really appreciate the time and effort you put into testing across all those AA configurations!

We understand how frustrating it must be to still see those frame time spikes, and we want to make sure we get this resolved for you. It's worth keeping in mind that WARDOGS is still in beta, with the full stable release scheduled for September 10, 2026. Performance irregularities like frame time spikes are quite common in pre-release builds and are typically addressed before or at launch, so there's a good chance things will look a lot better once the stable version is out. You can keep track of the release here: WARDOGS on Steam

In the meantime, we strongly recommend updating to the latest Intel Arc Graphics drivers, as they can bring meaningful stability and performance improvements that may help with the behaviour you're seeing: Intel Arc Graphics Driver – Windows

Once you've updated, we'd love to hear how things go especially after the full release drops!

Sharing a fix for this issue for others who end up here from Google.

Adding -nogpucrashdebugging to the Wardogs launch options in Steam completely removes the stutter. Game on.

A770 still have stutter issue badly at standard release wardogs, -nogpucrashdebugging launch options seems doesn't work on A770, need driver support.

It was working perfectly until I updated to the new driver and updated the firmware. Odd how that works.

Fortunately someone found a temporary fix. Using “ -nogpucrashdebugging” without the quotes in steam launch options has fixed most Intel GPU users stutter issues.

Yeh this. It instantly removed the stutters and boosted the fps up to 75%

Hey Users!

We hear you all, and we wanted to pop in with a quick update. Intel has just released a new ARC Graphics Driver, version 32.0.101.8993, which includes a fix specifically targeting the stuttering and frame drop issues you have been experiencing in the game.

Go ahead and grab the latest drivers from the link below, do a quick restart, and jump back in:

Once you have had a chance to try it out, let us know how it goes! Your feedback really helps us and the rest of the community.

Thank you.

Hi, the same issue occurs with Arc Raiders as well, and the same solution " -nogpucrashdebugging " fixes the problem. Will you have to come up with a specific solution for every Unreal Engine game? I don't know the technical details.
