Recommendation for P2P communication recording

Hi,

I am looking for a way to do the p2p webrtc media recording, there are two options I can think of 

1) Do the recording on the client side, and then upload/stream bytes to the server, but then will have more codes on both client and server side

2) Use MCU conference server, even though just for one to one communication, and then certainly we can perform the recording on MCU server. But feel like it is wasting the bandwidth as it can be done by using p2p.

So is there a way that still using p2p, but at the same time forwarding the media stream to MCU for recording only?
