I am designing a solution where it is mandatory for its components to use HSM appliance, to leverage its features for the key management and Secure Transaction Processing to encrypt/decrypt the data/images being transmitted from our entity to another. I went through the SGX capabilities and found typically matches the requirements as a cost effect solution, yet still wondering for having it as an intermediate layer between the two applications' ends to secure the transaction processing.

I'd rather request a direct answer for its usability in such case, while thankfully to be provided with the architecture particulars through Intel references.
