Does neural compute stick 2 support hardware video decoding?

Hi there, I just bought a ncs2 and from this page https://www.movidius.com/myriadx it says:

a new native 4K ISP pipeline with support for up to 8 HD sensors connecting directly to the VPU

So I am wondering it ncs2 supports hardware video decoding?

Thanks

Hi Yatong,

I believe there is no hardware decoder in Myriad - it is a VPU. Maybe others can confirm.

JFTR if you have a Core CPU you should be able to use the Quick Sync hardware decoder to accelerate your pipeline. Some Xeon CPUs have QuikSync too. Check https://ark.intel.com/Search/FeatureFilter?productType=processors&QuickSyncVideo=true for a complete list of QuickSync CPUs.

Cheers,

Nikos
