GPU mode "Device lookup failed" for Pentium J5005

Hi Intel team,

For some unrelated reason we need to have Ubuntu 18.04 installed on Pentium J5005 board. To get ok installed OpenVINO 2018.2.300 on Ubuntu 18.04 we performed small modifications in install scripts to use lib binaries of Ubuntu 16.04 folder from OpenVINO 2018.2.300.

And we're able to build and get working classification_sample test app in CPU mode on this J5005 board.

But for GPU mode we get "[ ERROR ] failed to create engine: Device lookup failed".

Tool clinfo provides full correct output (please check attached logs).

So, how to get working classification_sample in GPU mode on J5005?

P.S. We would use Ubuntu 16.04 instead of 18.04 but we need h264 hardware encoder too on this device through deb "i965-va-driver" of 2.1.0 (using libva2).

Thanks.

P.P.S by using LD_DEBUG it's found that things stop right before loading /opt/intel/opencl/libigdfcl.so.

Hi Oleg,

What version kernel are you using?

Kind Regards,

Hi Monique,

initially we tried regular ubuntu 18.04 kernel of deb linux-image-4.15.0-29-generic.

Also we tried rt kernel 4.16.16-rt7 with the same result.

Do we need some custom kernel for this Ubuntu 18.04 ?

Thanks,

Oleg

I've met the similar issue with my Intel IGD. So any updates or comments here?

Just verified,

OpenVino R5 works in GPU mode for  Intel(R) Pentium(R) Silver J5005 CPU @ 1.50GHz.
