Hi There,

I want to install Intel® ESDQ in my Intel development board. But the installation keeps failing.

Installation environment:

-------------------SYSTEM INFO--------------------
Package Name: Intel Video AI Box 3.0
Product Name: youyeetoo X1 SBC
CPU SKU: Intel(R) Celeron(R) N5105 @ 2.00GHz
Memory Size: 8 GB
Operating System: Ubuntu 22.04.3 LTS
Kernel Version: 6.2.0-39-generic
Accelerator: None
CPU Utilization: 0.9%
Available Disk Space: 128GB

I've uploaded a screenshot of the error report.

How can I solve this problem?

Thank you.

Hi,

For information on specific Intel® ESDQ Test Packages or to Configure & Download Intel® ESDQ Test Packages, follow the links below :

Note that those links support the latest Intel ESDQ version 11.0.0

Make sure you are referring and installing according to the latest version.

Once you are done configuring & downloading the package, refer to this Get Started Guide for steps to perform on the target system.

Ensure that you had downloaded and installed Intel ESDQ with the respective test modules before you continue in this section.

Dear Iffa,

Yes.

I am using the latest version 11. Refer to this Get Started Guide for steps to perform on the target system.

During installation, enter the product key you received when downloading the package. When the installation is complete, you see the message Installation of package complete and the installation status for each module.

NOTE: Ensure all the modules are installed successfully before using Intel® ESDQ. If any modules fail to install, run the command: ./edgesoftware update <Failed Module ID(s)>

According to this instruction, many attempts were made with the same error (screenshot provided in previous attachment).

Can you please help me to confirm if N5105 is using Intel ESDQ?
If so, please let me know what information I need to provide to you in order to solve my problem?

Generally, these hardware are officially validated to support Intel ESDQ:

  • 11th, 12th, or 13th generation Embedded Intel® Core™ processors
  • 12th generation Intel® Core™ Desktop processors with Intel® Arc™ A380 Graphics
  • Intel Atom® Processor X Series, (formerly Alder Lake-N)
  • Intel® Processor N-series (formerly Alder Lake-N)

You are using an Intel® Celeron® Processor N Series (Products formerly Jasper Lake) which is a newer N series processor.

Could you share your log files directory: /var/log/esb-cli/<ESH-package-name>

Your first photo (AVX error) is a known issue where Celeron® processors being used do not support AVX instructions.

You may refer to this article.

Hi Iffa,

Please check the log file.

I checked the AVX solution, can I use the TensorFlow library without AVX enabled?

Can I complete ESDQ certification if the N5105 does not support AVX commands?

thank you for your help.

Hi,

After getting some clarifications, the ESH package installation should be successful with or without AVX.

Once the ESDQ tests modules run, we will know which components require AVX instruction set.

In addition to that, there is a new package release version 3.1. Could you try to install this version and see whether the same issue persist in your system?: Intel® Edge Software Device Qualification (Intel® ESDQ) for Intel®...

Thank you.

I will try the 3.1 version.

BTW, can you provide an already optimized system image like Ubuntu for Intel?

A device that meets the requirements, downloads your test system and does not have to think about the environment.

Hi,

You should be able to use that image (latest version) that you shared where it should fulfill the ESDQ system requirements.

Note:

Choose Optimised Real-time Ubuntu Intel Atom® X7000E Series Processors (former codename Alder Lake N) on the image link you shared.

ESDQ Target System Requirements

  • 11th, 12th, or 13th generation Embedded Intel® Core™ processors
  • 12th generation Intel® Core™ Desktop processors with Intel® Arc™ A380 Graphics
  • Intel Atom® Processor X Series, (formerly Alder Lake-N)
  • Intel® Processor N-series (formerly Alder Lake-N)
  • Operating System:
    • Ubuntu* 22.04.2 or higher
  • At least 80 GB of disk space
  • At least 8 GB of memory
  • Direct Internet access

Hi,

any chance that you tried the ESDQ CLI?

Perhaps that would work for you.
