2017 Composer Update 1 error

Are you using the "online installer" or downloading the full installer? If the former, try the full installer.

Try this. Reboot and temporarily disable any background backup or anti-malware programs you have running, then run the full installer again. If it still fails please zip and attach the log file the error mentions.

Steve:

I use the latest preview of Windows 10 -- when it updates it wipes out the Intel Cache of files for installing the Intel  programs, so it had lost the 2017 install media.  When I reinstalled 2017 from scratch, it would not let me do a repair as the media was gone,  and then installed update 1 it worked.
