I recently upgraded from Compaq VF to Intel Fortran. So far, I am very disappointed. I have tried two different programs that previously compiled in Compaq and now do not compile using Intel. One of them gets compilation abort code 1, and one of them gets compilation abort code 128. Where can I find what these abort codes mean? Does anyone have any suggestions on how to make this transition easier? I upgraded to be able to use Fortran within Visual Studio.Net. I really like that ability, but so far nothing else is working.

The abort codes are not really meaningful. Please submit a problem report to Intel Premier Support so that the problems can be identified and fixed.
I will comment that we don't consider Intel Fortran 7.1 an "upgrade" from CVF - that upgrade will be the future Intel Visual Fortran product.
