Hello,
I have downloaded a "parallel_studio_xe_2016.tgz" from the free software webpage for students, but it is 0 kb and unable to be unzipped by either tar or gunzip or winrar.
Does anybody have met this and is there any problems?
Thank you very much and regards there.

The size of the file is over 3.6 GB, and it will take several minutes (or even hours) to finish downloading. While the file is downloading, the file length may be shown as 0, since that file is only a place-holder. At this time, you can run the ps command to see if the download process is still active.
After the download is complete, the downloaded file may be moved from /tmp or /usr/tmp to the final location.

I'm not sure whether you saw the option for the Online Installer so I'll mention it. The online installer is a smaller download/installation option permitting selective installation of components of immediate/initial interest with the option to install additional components at a later time; thus helping spread that overall download time for the complete package across separate installations of the various components.
As for the zero-length download file, we have not received any past reports of that so perhaps it is possible the download is still in progress as mecej4 discussed.
