Application error - not enough space for enviroment

Since installing VF 6, an application error occurs (stating that there is not enough space for the environment) when i try to launch statistiaca 5.0. I have tried expanding the environment size (NT 4.0 sp5) to it's maximum (32768) but this appears to have no effect. Any suggestions on a solution?
