I am running CVF 6.5 on a dual xeon processor pc with windows xp prof. Sometime when I compile a fortran project (size doesn't matter), the compiling process seems dead,no matter how long I wait. The onl;y way to exit from visual studio is to kill it with task manager. But this never occur on other pc with single processor. Any idea?

Running a virus scanner? Sometimes these can have strange effects such as this. The compiler is single-threaded so it doesn't make use of dual CPUs.
