We have several CVF6.6 licenses and we are considering to upgrade to IVF8.
We also use VB6 and VBA and have coded many VB programs that call CVF6.6 DLLs.
We are also considering to upgrade from VB6 to VB.NET
And finally, we are thinking about getting into the web development using ASP.NET
Here are my questions to the forum members:
1. Has anyone gone through a similar transition yet? What is your experience? What kind of problems I should anticipate?
2. Can I use the existing CVF DLLs with VB.NET applications without any modifications to the DLLs?
3. If I can do step 2 above, can I do the same with ASP.NET web forms which run VB.NET code behind files (and those VB.NETcode will still call CVF DLLs)
4. Has anyone have any experience with mixing Fortran (CVF or IVF) development with ASP.NET? What difference is it going to makeif Iswitch from CVF6.6 to IVF8 in terms of VB.NET and ASP.NET development? Is my life going to be easier?
Thanks
Ismail
