When I try to upgrade CVF 6.5 to version 6.6 by the upgrade provided by compaq I get the message that CVF is not installed or installed unproperly. I read on this forum that some of the people had the same experience but the solution wasn't provided. I was wondering if somebody knows how to solve that problem?

The most common reason for this, not that I'm saying it's your case, is that the version of CVF 6.5 installed is from a "pirated" copy, not manufactured by Compaq. These are circulating widey in the far east and among US universities. The 6.6 upgrade can detect this and will fail to install.
If you want a certain diagnosis, send the CVF66UPG.LOG file, found in the Windows folder, to vf-support@compaq.com and ask.
