Hi,
I was told that the CVF Engineers moved to Intel when HP sold the product. I'm hoping some of these engineers from CVF v6.6 are around to respond to whether it is possible to make a determination whether a given CVF serial number is a 10-seat license or not for v6.6? Customer is running into problems trying to get FLEXlm license manager box to recognize license. Is this a 3rd party product that I need to address with FLEXlm? Thanks for any help you can provide. I have contacted HP support at vf-support@hp.com but suspect it is a dead link as no one responds.
Regards,

Larry,
It is not a dead address, but responses from there seem sporadic. Send mail to product manager Richard Morency at HP with such questions. Richard can contact me if his staff is unable to answer the question, as I designed this aspect of the product.
However, I can tell you that if the eighth digit of the serial number is 3, it's a floating license for use with FLEXlm. If it is 4, then it is a "multiple" single-PC license (sold in units of 5 or 10.) Only the "3" licenses are usable with a FLEXlm license server - the purchaser would have received an authorization code redeemable for a FLEXlm license key. Those were sold in units of 1, 2, 5 and 10.
