Compaq vf Debug issues with xp

Is anyone aware of a patch for apparent debug conflicts with XP for Compaq vf 6.6.0? (I assume that the issue is with XP because the program ran well under windows 2000; this may be an incorrect assumption).

There is no "patch" from the CVF side. What's the symptom?
The thing I usually suggest in such cases is to reboot into Safe Mode and try running the program again. Often you'll find it runs fine - if so, then you have some background program running that is interfering. Common culprits are lesser-known antivirus programs and the MS Office language toolbar.
