The Intel site says this is an "important" document to read if you are using the Fortran compiler. I Googled the name "CompilerPatchHowToWin.txt" and it led me toa message boardthat SBLIONEL responded to - we're not the only ones looking for it. Where is this file? We are on Intel Visual Fortran Compiler version 8.0+ 20031017z

The document would be available under FIle Downloads when you log in to Premier Support. However, at this point, you don't want a patch - you want to download the 8.1.019 compiler from Premier Support.

You currently have the original December release compiler.Patches were not started until several months later. The patch for 8.0 currently available requires that you uninstall 8.0.034, which you have, and download and install 8.0.050. Then you can apply the 8.0.053 patch.

This board is independent of Premier Support - it is run by Intel Developer Services. Go to http://premier.intel.com/ and log in with your Premier Support username and password. Once logged in, "File Downloads" will be a link in the left column. When you select "Intel Fortran Compiler for Windows", you will see many kits that have been released, in descending chronological order. The one you want will be called w_fc_pc_8.0.050.exe - that's the "baseline" 8.0.050 compiler. There is also a w_fc_pc_8.0.050_PE053.1.exe - that is the IA-32 8.0.053 patch that is applied to 8.0.050.
The CompilerPatchHowToWin.txt file is also there, posted 4/28/04.
