Debugging internal routines

Using DVF 6.1A

When I have an internal routine I can breakpoint on the calling line, but as soon as I step into the contained subroutine the debugger freezes. The same happens if I place the breakpoint insidet he contained routine. if the routine is made external then I can step through it with no problems.

Any pointers to what about my setup needs fixing?
