Error 1324 need help

Hi
I am installing VF10.1 to my laptop. VS2008 has been installed. I got the error:
Error 1324. The path Program Files contains an invalid character.
I searched this forum and got this link and did that. The error still there.

Please help me out.

XP home edition,version 2002,sp3

There is a known issue with paths containing non-English characters or UNICODE. Is your windows using English as the language and is Visual Studio stored in C:Program Files or C:Program Files (x86) ?

Probably, the reason it that a damaged visio studio 2005 is in the registry. If I can figureout a way to clean up all the visual studio 2005 entry in the registry file, this problem might be gone.
