Error spawning df.exe

Hi

I changed from W98 to XP in a PC with CVF 6.6 installed. Due to some CD driver problems I could not make just an update (my CD driver could not read some files from the installation CD, and the one I got from a friend freezed Windows).I booted from the XP CD and made the XP instalation.

In doing so allthefiles in the HD were preserved but many programs refused to work. CVF, one of then, complained of some missing dlls ( I remember dformd.dll) so I copyiedthe dllfrom the old c:/windows/system to the new c:/winxp/system .CVF started workingbutwhenrebuildingthe 'Error spawning df.exe' occurs. It was possible to run in debug mode a program compiled in W98.

I can't uninstall CVF as the 'add/remove programs'in Control Pane has no entries at all.

I am afraid to just try to reinstall CVF and getting into further problems. My CVF is genuine, I have the licence number in hand, but in themisteryous realms of Windows register some licence trap may bewaitingme.

How can I fix this issue?

Thanks for any help

I recommend reinstalling CVF. There's too much that needs to be set in the registry to have it work by just copying files. Don't worry about licensing issues - CVF is pretty simple about its licensing unless you have a floating license (which I'm sure you don't.)
