Fortran Essentials and Visual Studio 2026

Fortran essential will not install with Visual Studio 2026.

There is currently no official support for VS2026. It should come later with new compiler update.

As I requested in the other thread, it will be very useful to know of Intel's plans to support Intel Fortran integration and IFX compiler with Visual Studio 2026.

May you please provide us with an update?  A team I work with and their management really would like to learn of Visual Studio 2026 support with IFX.

The support for Visual Studio 2026 is introduced in the latest compiler update (ifx version 2025.3.2), which is available for downloading: https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/developer/tools/oneapi/fortran-compiler-download.html

Note that you may also use a whole oneAPI HPC Toolkit bundle, which includes the latest IFX version. Note that the Intel Fortran Expression Evaluator should be installed alongside the compiler via the Visual Studio Extension Manager. It is important to get a correctly functioning debugger.
