Fortran code appearance in visual studio 2022

I must have done something but my fortran code now appears as plain text, This is how it appears in vis studio 2012

but now it is just plain black and white  in vis studio 2022

 any help would be appreciated

Is your file name extension listed in the Fortran options?

where are the "Fortran options",  vis studio was working ok with colours then something must have happened to trigger this . Also when I shut down vis studio  and reopen the files that were open before shutdown now disappear
