Hi again :)
as it seems to be more difficult to use Fortran with GUI and DB, it comes to mind to outsource these tasks to Java.
So my question now is: Is it possible, if so, how, to let a Fortran program (IVF 8.1, running on a server) communicate with Java programs (running on clients)? I heard of sockets and RMI, but do not *know* if they suite to this task.
