Several more issues with the Forum Design

1. Forum ignores the Text Size options in IE - only the headings change.

2. The Text Size in the editor is even smaller than in the posts, which are too small.

3. Unable to remain logged in - have to log in on every visit.

Thanks,

David

edit (for a second time) Somehow in all my back and forwards I "lost" the order of the posts. I used to have newest posts first, descending date order. But I couldn't find _this_ post, even going through several "pages" of posts so I just logged out and back in again and the appearance changed! Also suddenly the up arrow works (see (4) below) - intermittently Submit results in "Service Unavailable - Zero Sized Object" message. But the post does actually get submitted. "View new posts in forum" dropdown, suddenly I can't see this and some other "new posts". Also there is no dropdown to select another option. /edit (2) When viewing posts there is no "Next" or "Previous" button - that I can see. They made it easy to navigate rather than having to click the "Back" button in IE and then select the next post. (3) The posted/editor text of grey on white could be darker. Perhaps I'm just getting old :-( (4) In the editor the keyboard "up arrow" doesn't work. (5) There may be more thoughts later. Les

I suspect it is a problem of getting aquainted to the new forum functionality, but I am also finding navigating the posts difficult, as in (2) above. I can't find "Next" or "Previous" buttons. Also, comments are no longer numbered, to give some indication as to which comment you are responding to. I presume there is some improved functionality to justify this change of layout. Any chance we can be told what it is, rather than stumble around hoping to find some new way to communicate? I am assuming that "Leave a Comment" is equivalent to adding to a post, so here goes !!

David, Try Ctrl+ (ShiftCtrl+=) to enlarge. Ctrl- to reduce.

Issues, When I post a reply, why is the link titled Quick Reply instead of Reply? After submitting a Quick Reply, I get a Server error Zero Sized Object error, but post visible after navigating back to the forum. When form post includes the .jpg, the image overstrikes the first column of the text. Forum is really slow. Jim Dempsey

The whole site is optimized for modern browsers so I'm not sure which IE version you are using? IE 8 support is best effort but 9 and 10 are fully supported.

The login issue is worrisome but I can't replicate it. We use cookie based authentication if that helps.

Would it be possible to provide a sticky post explaining some of the changes with the new forum. Areas that could be included are: 1) New features, such as the count of new comments to a post and hopefully many more. 2) Omitted old features, especially navigation and responding to a numbered comment. 3) What are the benefits of this new forum 4) Is adding a file more seamless. A paper clip would be much simpler than the multi-stage method that was previously required. Unfortunately I missed the user survey of what we wanted in the upgrade. I look forward to the update. John ps: I also found that UpArrow was disabled for a while, but came back after I resized the comment text box.

Re: IE issues, etc. I am using IE8 and nothing has changed on my system since the old forum was taken down. The cookies must be handled differently, as I used to be able to stay logged in all the time but not any more. IE is blocking some content because of certificate errors but I have not been able to see what the problem is. The automatic notification of new posts should come from an address other than the generic no-reply at intel.com as this is not specific to the forum, so makes it difficult for spam blocking. There are no options to turn off notifications of new posts (or it is hidden). When comment gets more than 4 lines long, the edit box jumps up and down from the first line to the line currently being edited, which makes it difficult to edit properly. Thanks, David

One more (for the 3rd time - keep getting zero size object error) - cannot set local time zone to display posts.
