Getting started with Microsoft visual studio - Tutorials

I have been using Compaq Digital Visual Fortran Developer Studio v6.6 for years and I just purchased Intel Visual Fortran Compiler 10.0 and upgraded to v11.0. It looks like it comes with Microsoft Visual Studio 2005. I can't even figure out how to build and run a simple program. I have searched the FAQ and I see nothing helpful. Can you direct me to a tutorial or something? The help utility has been no help at all. I just want to run a simple, old stylefortran program.

There is a getting started document provided. Have you read the Migrating from CVF whitepaper listed in the right column of this forum?

I've attached something I put together for a customer last week. It's somewhat rough, but we'll be creating several tutorials of this nature in the near future. Just run the EXE and it will start the tutorial. Tell me what you think.

Thank you for your excellent advice. The brief tutorial you provided was just what I needed. I had previously read the "Migrating from CVF" and several other articles however they didn't get me where I needed to be. I tried to find a user's guide but I wasn't successful. Thanks again.

I'm glad to hear it. I would find it very helpful for you, or anyone else who wants to chime in, to list things that confused you or that you couldn't find. We want to prepare more tutorial information and knowing which areas to address will help. It may also lead to improvements in the product. Thanks.

Would you find helpful if, when the product finishes installing, your web browser opens to a page pointing out the location of documentation, samples and tutorials? Other ideas?
