How do I recover my Fortran?

You probably have an article about this - -

I had the latest build of Fortran 12 XE Parallel, version 5
dated 8/24/11 when my disk drive went south, had to be replaced.

Fortunately all my files were backed up. :<) :<)

But now when I reinstalled it from your Web site, I could not figure out how to supply
the serial number. It is currently in "evaluation" which will be OK
for 30 days or so.

Is it just a question of having someone send me the serial number, or is there a
way to recover the one I had previously?

BTW I sent this request to the licensing forum, so maybe they will answer.

you could refer me to the article, if there is one?

Thanks;
Bill S.

Simply log in at the Intel Registration Center and all your registered products and serial numbers will be displayed.

I logged in, but did not see build #5 there, just an older build.

Is there a way to recover the serial number from the backup files?

I thought I had registered it, but something might have gone wrong there.

I downloaded build #7 but it is still "evaluation"

Can I talk to a sales guy? Maybe my subscription needs to be updated.

Thanks; Bill Sinclair

BTW, I looked at VS 2010, that came with it -
Really nice appearance. They did a great job on this one.

Maybe you have a phone number of a sales guy, I think a verbal conversation will
help clear up some of the mystries. I possibly need to renew my subscription.

Bill,

I see a number of licenses for you. One of them, an Academic license, has a support end date in January 2012, so if you select that license, whose key starts with L4, you should be able to see the current version. You can recover your license file from backups of Program Files\Common Files\Intel\Licenses. I will note that even if you have the regular license present, the compiler will say "Evaluation" until the evaluation period ends or you use the activation tool as described in the release notes.

If you wish to purchase a Software Support Renewal to extend your license, you can do so here (or here for Academic licenses.)

I looked at both the restored files on the C drive and the backup files, but
did not see the pathway you gave. There was another pathway, but none of those licenses had to do with the
compiler. Is there a mechanism that prevents license files from being backed up?

Could the license files be hidden?

Or - - is there a way to recover the license files from the Web site?

When I click on activation tool it wants a serial number,
which is wht I am lacking currently.

Sorry to be such a pain in the butt, but I don't think anyone has
provided an easyway to recover from a disk drive failure.

Our install does not hide license files nor prevent them from being backed up. Your serial numbers are listed when you log in to the Intel Registration Center.

Mine were not listed.
Where are they listed?

I looked at "EXPIRED" registrations, but the onlt thing I saw recently
was a C++ package which I never used. I don't use C++ at all.

It shows me stuff I have not yet downloaded, but nothing at all
I downloaded before.

How do I get a serial number for a RECENT download?

There is an eensy-teensy link to something that says

"select other packages from the download menu." Is that it?

BARELY READABLE.

When you first log in to the Intel Registration Center, a list of all your registered products is shown. Click on one and it will take you to the download page for the latest one you are eligible for. At the bottom of this page is a list of serial numbers you have registered.

I am going to add a "private" reply with the serial number of the license that still has active support.

I am not sure what you are seeing in the Intel Registration Center. If you want to take a screenshot and attach it to a private reply (set "Mark this post Private" to Yes) I will look at it.

When you buy a license, you get one year of support, which includes the rights to all updates and versions released during that year. When you click on the link for a product name, it should show you the most recent download you have the right to install.

I don't see a way to add a screen saver click.
Do I have to use Intel PAINT to make a file out of it first?

Ctl-V does not work for screen clicks.

You will need to make a file of it first - please save as a GIF or JPG, not BMP. See the link in my signature below for how to attach files.

Well, it does that, but does not show the original download I had for that one year period.

That's why I had trouble recovering the serial number.

BTW, I could not figure out how to include a screen shot.

I could send it as a file attached to a regular E-mail if necessary.
But I would need your E-mail address.

Bill, I am going to ask one of our licensing experts to help you. The Registration Center may not show "original download" - it shows registered licenses and the products you may use with that license.

Can't help with your license issue, but here is a wonderful screen-capture utility:
