I have installed Intel Visual Fortran Compiler 11.0 Professional Edition for windows OS. Now I need to transfer that compiler from the old computer to the new one. Please let me know how to do that. Thanks.

Assuming you have a normal, single-user license, there is no need to transfer a license. You can install the compiler on as many systems as you want, as long as you are the primary user. Just install on the new computer using the serial number.

A common question. Here's a previous thread/reply (here) that should help.

Thanks for the reply. Yes, I have the normal, single user license. When our technician tried to install the compiler in my new computer, he said it failed and he had to install it in "evaluation version" which would only last for 1 month. How could I change it? Thanks.

Without knowing all the details, it's hard to say what went wrong. Possibly a serial number from an older version was used to install a newer version. But do this - go to the Intel Registration Center and register the serial number. (It may be already registered to you.) If you register it will email you a license file. Copy this license file to C:Program FilesCommon FilesIntelLicenses (it will have a .LIC file type). That should make it behave as a licensed install.

If you need more help, let us know.

Greetings,

I have resend you the license file for Intel Visual Fortran Compiler Professional Edition for Windows*, Version 11.0. (Serial Number xxxx-xxxxxxFX)

As Steve suggested, You can use the license file attached to the e-mail, during the install. If you still see errors, please let us know the package name of the downloaded file for install, the error message you see etc. D

Do you have the prerequisites installed on the new machine? I am assuming you have, because you installed the eval copy successfully. If not, did you download the compiler package which includes Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 Premier Partner Edition*.

Thanks
