Have just done an IVF 8.0 install and seem to have generated some sort of office issue on OLE or some other complex items too difficult to define, but resolved by "Repairing" office. Could have been a coincidence.
Wondered if others had similar experience or just finger trouble my end.
Excel 2002 and Excel 2003 systems on Win XP
Thanks for any comments

That's a new one on me. I've installed many times on systems with Office and had no problem. I don't recall seeing support complaints about this either.
Can you give any details as to what the symptom was? The compiler install doesn't do anything with OLE anyway...

Steve,
Thanks
A strange one my end as well. I had an automation error response in vba which required Office repair to fix. The coincidence with installing the complier may have been just that a coincidence.
The issue showed itself with a third party Excel add-in.
Write it off to experience and move on I suspect.

A long time ago, when an installation of Office on Win2K was followed by a different user assuming elevated privilege to install software, Office was provoked into requiring a repair. I haven't seen this with any currently supported version of Office.
