IVF 9 Installation

I've submitted this issue to Intel Premier Support, issue no. 311557, but I'm posting it here as well to see if someone elsecan help.
I'm trying to install IVF Pro 9 on a Windows XP system. I have Visual Studio 2003 installed.I have an IVF Pro license located at "C:Program FilesCommon FilesIntelLicensecommercial_for_w_C999-99999999.lic" (not the real license number), and I have uninstalled VTune andall previous versions of IVF. When I run the W_FCP_P_9[1].0.018.exe installer specifying C999-99999999 as my license number the installer tells me that the license number isn't valid. I tried using the Back buttonand thenmanually specifying "C:Program FilesCommon FilesIntelLicensecommercial_for_w_C999-99999999.lic" as the license file, but the installer also rejects it as invalid.

I noticed that the installation procedureautomatically creates a new"C:Program FilesCommon FilesIntelLicenses" directory and copies the commercial_for_w_C999-99999999.lic license file into it. Thinking that this new directory is where the license file should be, I have tried renaming the "C:Program FilesCommon FilesIntelLicense" directory to "C:Program FilesCommon FilesIntelLicense0" and rerunning the installation. It failed in the same way. On a hunch I tried renaming the license file from commercial_for_w_C999-99999999.lic to for_w_C999-99999999.lic and rerunning the installation again, first using the"C:Program FilesCommon FilesIntelLicenses" directory and then again using the "C:Program FilesCommon FilesIntelLicense" directory. Both times the installation failed in the same way as originally.

The installation guide available from within the installation procedure never explicitly spells out where the license file is supposed to reside. I found this section within the installation guide:

IMSL* Fortran Library Installatiion [sic](Professional Edition Only)

If the IMSL* Fortran Library installation fails with an error message indicating that no license was found, make sure that the INTEL_LICENSE_FILE environment variable is defined and points to the license file location (usually C:Program FilesCommon FilesIntelLicenses).

This suggests that the license file should reside in "C:Program FilesCommon FilesIntelLicenses", but the e-mail message from Intel in which I received the license file suggested that it should go into "C:Program FilesCommon FilesIntelLicense".

Does anyone know the correct location of the IVF license file?

Does anyone know why the installation procedure automatically creates anew "C:Program FilesCommon FilesIntelLicenses" directory and copies my license file from its original location in "C:Program FilesCommon FilesIntelLicense" into it?

Does anyone know why the installation procedure rejects my license number and license file as invalid?

I watched a customer install this compiler today on an X64 pro installation. The confusion factor came on the screen which suggests entering the serial number. In order to use a license file, you must de-select the serial number box, select the Other box, and browse to the license file. The license located in Common FilesIntelLicenses worked OK.
I'm not certain in your case whether the serial number or license file track is the way to go.
