When I select Help...Intel Visual Fortran Composer XE2011. I get 'Loading online help' message then a tab titled "Intel C++ composer XE 2011" opens with 'Start Here' and on the right the contents pane is blank except for a line which says 'no table of contents has been defined for the current Help collection' with 'Intel' in the filter box above. Where is my Fortran Help gone?

I suggest you uninstall and reinstall Fortran. Which Fortran update and which VS version are you using?

I use VS2005 Pro SP1 version 8.0.50727.762 and IVF package ID W_fcompxe_2011.3.175. I think the last install I did updated the WIn32 version with the combined win32 and win64 compiler update. I do not use IVF much at the moment so did not noticw the help problem then.
Is there a REGSERV32 command I can run to register the help correctly? without having to uninstall and install the Fortran, assuming I can find the package again!

It's not a "register" issue like that. I would suggest installing Update 6 and see if the problem persists.
