Hi, could anybody help for installing the 64 bit ifc81 on Xeon EM64 with FC3?
I have a dual CPU Xeon 3.0G box with FC3 64 bit OS. When I tried to install ifc81 on it, I always got the options for 32-bit installation?
When I use rpm to install, I don't know how to setup the license afterwards.
Your any hints would be highly appreciated,
Regards,
Tian

Are you using the EM64T compiler installer? This is a separate download from the ia32/ia64 compiler, on your premier.intel.com account. I would post a URL, if the site were on line. For the 64-bit compiler, you should require only the 64-bit gcc development system on your linux installation.

Thanks for the information. The only file I got from intel for ifc81 is the non-commercial gzipped file l_fc_pu_8.1.021.tar.gz along with the end user license file. The installer I got is the install.sh. It would be great if you could point me to the EM64T compiler installer. The gcc I am using is x86_64-redhat-linux-gcc coming with Fedora Core3 64 bit.
I am very willing to test the performance of the new Xeon 64 on
64 bit computing [for both large memory and file (saying 20GB) requirement] and plan to build a 64bit Linux cluster with Xeon EM64T.

On the linux Fortran compiler download page https://premier.intel.com/FileDownloads.aspx
the current 64-bit compiler for EM64T is l_fce_pc_8.1.024.tar.gz
There is no "limited" evaluation version.
The license is the same as for the 32-bit and Itanium compiler, and the install script takes care of copying it into the installation.
In the 9.0 compiler, all 3 versions come in one file, but in the 8.1, the EM64T compiler is a separate file.

However, my access with my registered user account (for ifc) to this site was denied. Should I have any other account to get the access, thanks.

Send me an e-mail at steve dot lionel at intel.com with the e-mail address you use for Premier Support and I'll look into it.
