Installation order with VS

Hi,

I installed VS 2015 Community then IVF on a student's computer.  That all went smoothly.  Now I have discovered that VS 2015 is incompatible with some software, and I intend to remove it and install VS 2012 instead.  Will I need to uninstall IVF and reinstall it after VS 2012, or is there a way to tell VS about already installed IVF?

Thanks

Gib

You can do a "Change" on Parallel Studio XE and select integration with VS2012. It should not be necessary to do a complete reinstall.

I now have VS2012 installed - how do I do this "Change"?

Thanks

Just run the installer again and select Modify and not Repair or Remove.

I did figure that out, Steve.  When I did the Modify on Intel Composer XE 2013 SP1 Update 6 it allowed me to select integration with VS2012.  (I first tried it on Intel Parallel Studio XE 2016, but discovered that VS2012 is not an option).  But when I start VS2012 Intel Fortran is not available.  Looking in the VS2012 directory, I see that the Intel Fortran directory is not there.  Should this be present when VS2012 is installed, or does it get added later?

That directory gets added by the Fortran install.  And yes, VS2012 is supported by Parallel Studio XE 2016. I suggest an uninstall and reinstall of Parallel Studio XE.

I did manage to get VS2015 working with XE 2016, without reinstalling XE 2016 ( I had to reinstall VS2015 because it was uninstalled to install VS2012).  They seem to be working together - except for the difficult crashing problem I have since posted about.  It looks as if a change in one of these (probably VS) has broken my program.
