Hi,
I've installed IVF8, but now what. When I go to "New Project" under "Project Types" I don't get a "Intel Fortran Projects" option. It's registered with the .lic file installed. Am I missing some vital step?
I can't use premier support as our IT is away and Intel insist on only one point of contact for our organisation (700 staff -everyone else is still using CVF).
Guy.

Is VC.NET installed on a partition other than the one Windows boots from? If so, this is a known install issue which will be fixed in a future update.
I have attached a ZIP file which contains a fix for this - a program you run after you have installed Visual Fortran - it corrects the IDE integration issues. Also included is a program to be run before you uninstall (which you would need to do before installing a new version), so that the old version uninstalls cleanly. A readme.txt is included.
If this situation applies to you, please try this out and let me know how it works for you.

Glad to hear it. Remember to hold on to the zip file and run the "PreUninstallIfort" program before you uninstall in the future.

Steve,
I had the same problem. FixupIFort fixed it, however, I don't have a Fortran help collection in VS .NET. Is there an easy way of registering the help collection?

There isn't one. The Fortran help is a set of separate PDF and CHM files. We encountered a lot of issues with integrating into the VS.NET help and dropped the idea for 8.0. It is being revisited for a future release.

The problem described in this thread, and the fix, are no longer applicable. What problem are you having?

i installed, visual studio 2003 .net
then i installed the windows platform sdk
afterwards i installed the fortran compiler, that i just downloaded and i expected to be able to create a new fortran project within the visual studio, but there was nothing - then i saw the fix here applied it but it did not work.
edit:
it's the standard evaluation version, to test if things work out

When you installed Intel Fortran, did it complain that it could not find Visual Studio.NET or Visual C++.NET? What was the full name of the file you downloaded from Intel?
When you start Visual Studio, does it include a blue F logo for Intel Fortran in the splash screen? Is Intel Fortran listed in Help..About? Is your Visual Studio.NET a retail version from Microsoft and not an environment bundled with some other compiler?
