Intel Fortran ver. 9.0 compatibility with AMD Athlon 4800 running Win XP x64 Pro

A bit frustrated. Has anybidy had a problem with installing ver. 9.0 on a AMD 4800 dual-core processor with Win x64 Pro operating system? Intel premier support seems to be having problems identifying the problem. I always get an Error 1719: windows installer service could not be accessed ....

I've made sure that the windows installer is started by manually starting it in the installers properties box.

The product cost >$600 smackers for academic use and can't get past first base.

Oh well, any help would be mcuh appreciated.

I doubt there's a problem with the compiler product itself. We have ourselves tested on AMD x64 systems and we have many customers using this combination.
