Intel License Server for Windows Link

This maybe a Fortran issue, but since transfering my C and Fortran projects over to Visual Studio 2010 and upgrading to Intel Composer XE 2011, I have found the the compilation/composing perfomance of Fortran projects is very slow. The compilation of C code is fine.

The machine is a Windows Server 2008 with dual core and looking at the Windows Task Manager, I can see the the two cores are inactive for about 28 seconds out of 30! This seems to tie in with starting to compose a new source file in the project.

The memory usage is constant, but the CPU remians at 0% for 90% of the time.

I am suspecting this might be a licenseing issue and I have found an article relating to using the Composer on Windows Server 2008. The article suggests downloading the Windows License Server and starting this manually, but I have spent the last hour looking for a link to download this product without success. Where can I get this from, and do you think this might solve my problem?

Hello fohfab,

What was the compilation performance like before you upgraded?

If you have any evaluation licenses, one thing I would suggest doing is moving them out of the license folder.
