Dear Sir/Madam,
Can someone please help me with this question:
I have installed a 30 day trial version of Visual Studio 2013 to run Fortran; however, I can compile and run codes with IA-32 but not with Intel(R) 64. I get the following error:
A licence for FCompW is not available.
I have been directed to the support site for help.
The associated problem being that I am unable to run ABAQUS with user subroutine (FORTRAN).
Do I have to buy the product to be able to use Intel(R) 64?
Thanks.

That's unusual. No, you should be able to use Intel 64 for a trial. Try rebooting Windows to see if that clears it. I haven't heard of this problem before - let us know what happens and if it's still not working let us know.

Dear Steve,
I rebotted the computer; however, I am getting the same error message. I have attached a jpeg file showing the error in 64 as opposed to 32. Thank you for responding to my question.

Radwan, I will check with my team on Monday about this problem, as it appears to be affecting multiple users.

If you're having this problem - being able to compile for IA-32 but not for Intel 64 with an evaluation license, please do the following:
Click on the Start button and in the search box, type services.msc . When that appears in the results, click on it to open.
Scroll down the list of services. You should see two entries, "FlexNet Licensing Service" and "FlexNet Licensing Service 64". Click on "FlexNet Licensing Service 64" - in the upper left of the Services panel should be a link to "Start the service". Click on that link.
Can you now compile? If so, right click on the service name and select Properties. Change Startup Type to Automatic and click OK.
This should not be necessary, but it may help you until you have a purchased license. Let me know if it helps or if you get any error messages when starting the service.

Dear Steve,
Reinstalling Fortran with the new serial number worked. Thank you so much for your help.

We have reproduced the problem and will get it fixed for a future update. Radwan, I will send you a serial number to use for the install - this is a workaround.

Dear Steve,
I have the same license problem on a simple "hello world' program.

I modified the service as you mentioned above But it does not worl
"Click on the Start button and in the search box, type services.msc . When that appears in the results, click on it to open.

Regarding the license, i downloaded yesterday night (Paris, France ) the parallel_studio_xe_2015 and installed it today.
Very Best Regards
PS: I noticed that i can compile and linked the same simple "hello world" program in win32 but not in x64.

Alvaro, I will send you a private message with a serial number to use. Uninstall Fortran and then reinstall using the serial number.

Thank you,
I received the serial number and installed the software. Unfortunately, the result is the same failure.
Actually i installed an update related to the fortran compiler. But in my case, i use "microsoft visual studio" for the C++.
The error i get is :
--------------> Error: A license for CCompW is not available (-5,357).
Make sure that a license file is being used that contains a license

I am having the same problem - I've downloaded the 30-day trial fortran compiler and am getting the same error "A license for FCompW is not available". I've tried your suggestions above (restarting the FlexNet Licensing Service 64, rebooting) with no success. Any help would be appreciated.

What I've been told is an easy workaround is to use the Fortran Build Environment Command Prompt for Intel 64 shortcut, but right clicking on it and selecting "Start as Administrator". Then type "ifort" at the command prompt. You should need to do this only once.

I always do this anyway, so as to make a permanent change in edit options, font, and layout.
